The first thing to know about tips, is that you will receive 1 for every 10 tracks reviewed. Your tips should be given to the best artists that you feel are capable of reaching a Showcase. You will receive a free £5 voucher for every tipped artist that successfully reaches a Showcase so there is money to be made by using them wisely.
To tip an artist, simply click the tip icon on the right of the scout player (underneath the Watchlist icon). There is a pop-up that appears when you rollover it, saying ‘Tip Artist’ – you can’t miss it!
It is worth noting that you do not have to review an artist to place a tip on them. If you keep an eye on the Slicethepie forum, you will regularly see other scouts discussing artists that have caught their attention.
The number of tips available to you is displayed in your scouting profile on your Myslice page. This will also highlight how many reviews you need to submit to receive your next tip.
To view the artists you have tipped so far, Visit your Myslice page and click the Watchlist tab. If you tip an artist, they are automatically added to the Watchlist. A list of artists will be displayed, either showing they are tipped, or giving you the opportunity to tip them (if Watchlisted only).
IMPORTANT INFORMATION (From official FAQ):
Tips can only be used in the Scout Room in which they were earned. The moment a Scout Room ends and the Showcase for begins, all unused Tips evaporate, so best to use them as soon as you have earned them. Tips earned in the 24/7 Scout Room expire after 90 days so make sure you use them before you lose them!
